FOMC cuts interest rates, but move was already 'priced in': Analyst

The Federal Reserve Open Market Committee (FOMC) just dropped a 25 basis point rate cut, bringing the target Federal Funds rate down to 3.75%-4%. But here's the tea ☕️—markets already saw this coming from a mile away.

Matt Mena from 21Shares confirmed the move was "fully priced in" by investors. He dropped this absolute banger: "November has historically been one of Bitcoin's best-performing months, with positive returns in 8 of the past 12 years, averaging 46.02% returns. Overall, we remain moderately risk-on and see a credible path for Bitcoin to break its all-time high before year-end."

Meanwhile, asset prices barely moved or dipped slightly post-announcement. Bitcoin took a 2.4% hit to $110,485 after Fed Chair Jerome Powell revealed the committee is split on whether to cut rates again in December.

Michael Pearce from Oxford Economics called out the drama: "The unexpected hawkish dissent from a regional Fed president highlights that future moves are becoming more contentious." Translation: The Fed is fighting itself, and that division could choke off the liquidity crypto needs to moon.

The Fed kicked off this rate-cutting cycle back in September with another 25 basis-point cut that sent BTC soaring past $125K to new ATHs. Now, over 56% of traders are betting on another cut in December, according to CME data.

Banking giants like Bank of America, Citigroup, and Goldman Sachs already forecast at least two cuts for 2025 back in September. But here's the catch: US-China trade war tensions are creating major uncertainty that could overshadow any potential rate cut gains.
