Bitcoin price tags $97K despite high producer price inflation, no US tariff ruling
Bitcoin price action headed to new eight-week highs, diverging from US stock markets after higher-than-expected November Producer Price Index data.

Bitcoin hits new two-month high, shrugs off PPI

Bitcoin just flexed its anti-fragility muscles — spiking to $97,000 at Wednesday's Wall Street open while traditional markets were sweating over hot inflation data. BTC/USD hit fresh eight-week highs, completely ignoring November's Producer Price Index (PPI) numbers that came in at 3% vs. the expected 2.7%.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics confirmed the PPI overshoot, noting it was driven by a 0.9% advance in goods prices while services stayed flat. Higher inflation usually means the Fed gets hawkish — less liquidity for risk assets like crypto. But Bitcoin bulls DGAF — they'd already priced in a Fed pause at the January meeting.
Trading resource The Kobeissi Letter called it: "PPI inflation is now up to its highest level since July 2025. The Fed will PAUSE rate cuts in 2 weeks." Meanwhile, CME's FedWatch Tool shows markets betting hard on that pause.
Another potential macro risk — a Supreme Court ruling on US trade tariffs — didn't materialize either. The court stayed silent, keeping markets in limbo but apparently not spooking BTC.

BTC price: All eyes on $93,500 weekly close

Trader Rekt Capital dropped the alpha: the weekly close is everything. If BTC can flip the 2025 yearly open at $93,500 into support, we could see a repeat of the November 2024 and April 2025 bull runs.

Bitcoin will need to simply hold above $93500 heading into the new Weekly Close. History suggests a retest of $93500 into new support could also be on the cards.

Remember April 2025? BTC briefly dipped below $75k on tariff fears, then absolutely sent it with a 50% rally over the following weeks. History doesn't repeat, but it often rhymes.
  • Bitcoin reaches fresh eight-week highs, shrugging off high US PPI inflation data for November.
  • The Supreme Court does not issue a ruling on international trade tariffs.
  • BTC price must close the week above $93,500 to repeat April 2025-style bull run.
