Major Wall Street players are adding talent to support their growing cryptocurrency operations.
Charles Schwab, Fidelity, and other U.S.-based traditional companies are on a hiring spree for senior crypto roles, signaling a major leap into the digital asset space. This move comes as regulatory clarity improves, making it easier for traditional finance (TradFi) to dive into crypto.
Schwab is looking for a senior product manager in crypto trading and another for crypto onchain experiences. The $10 trillion asset manager is gearing up to launch Bitcoin and Ether spot trading, with BTC services expected by April 2026.
Fidelity, with $6.4 trillion in assets, is recruiting a crypto technology risk analyst. Meanwhile, Booz Allen Hamilton is on the hunt for a cryptocurrency subject matter expert, and S&P Global is seeking a senior analyst for global research and development in crypto and DeFi.
This hiring wave aligns with the Trump administration's push for clearer digital asset regulations. The recent GENIUS Act, regulating stablecoins, has already spurred TradFi giants like JPMorgan Chase and Bank of America to explore digital asset products.
The U.S. Senate is set to review a market structure bill in September, potentially offering more regulatory clarity and fostering crypto integration with traditional finance.
Web3 jobs evolving
Crypto job trends are shifting as the industry matures. Salaries in emerging markets are outpacing other sectors, remote-first roles are dwindling in favor of hybrid models, and AI skills are now a must-have. Entry-level positions are shrinking, with a clear preference for senior roles.
- • Geographical salary arbitrage is still a thing, especially in emerging markets.
- • Remote-first companies are becoming rare; hybrid is the new norm.
- • AI skills have transitioned from nice-to-have to mandatory.
- • Entry-level crypto jobs are declining, mirroring TradFi's hiring trends.
